National Watchdog for Gas Safety

CORGI is the National Watchdog for Gas Safety in the United Kingdom.

CORGI-registered installers have to undergo training before they are accepted on to the CORGI register. The training and assessments that registered gas installers have are not only about the technical know-how of specific appliances but also about safety. All assessments have to be renewed every five years in order to keep installers up to date with ever-changing standards and regulations and to keep their knowledge fresh.

Registration is now a legal requirement for businesses and self-employed people working on gas fittings or appliances.

National Federation of Builders

The National Federation of Builders is the industry's longest established trade association with almost 3,000 member companies, ranging from smaller builders to large contractors.

Member companies of the NFB have satisfied what they believe to be the most stringent entrance criteria for any building trade association.

The company's technical competence, health and safety standards and financial probity, must be to the satisfaction of a panel before a company is admitted into membership.

UK Register of Pre-Qualified Construction Services

Constructionline is owned by the Department of Industry (DTI) and is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative. It is the UK's largest register of pre-qualified construction contractors and consultants. Constructionline is designed to streamline procurement procedures and save valuable resources in the construction industry rendering it more efficient and effective.

Investors in People

Investors in People UK was established in 1993 to provide national ownership of the Investors in People Standard and is responsible for its promotion and branding, quality assurance and development.

It is the national Standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals.
